Propane Tanks at the Transfer Station

Propane Tanks at the Transfer Station | Picryl

Recently a resident disposed of a file cabinet in the metal pile at the Transfer Station...after filling it full of small propane tanks. Once this was discovered, the tanks were removed and stored in the propane tank locker, where your tax dollars pay to have them handled. The small amount we charge for propane tank recycling helps offset this charge by the vendor.

Please don’t do this. Not only can it be dangerous (the tanks were neither purged nor depressurized) but the Town can be fined, which will cost a lot more tax dollars than proper recycling! Please see an attendant with your propane tanks. We're there to help!
