Census Bureau: 84.7 percent of people in Portsmouth were old enough to vote in 2019

Of the 21,775 citizens living in Portsmouth in 2019, 18,449 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 9,325 of those people were female and 9,124 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
