Luck and Money New Year at Sol | The Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH - Receive the blessings of Luck and Money in the upcoming year with us at Sol Southern Kitchen and Lounge. The consumption of collard greens and black-eyed peas on the new year was believed to bestow the bounties of luck and money upon the consumer.
The cooking and serving of collards and black-eyed peas on the new year is a long-standing tradition that was cultivated in the Gullah region before becoming a standard in communities across the south.
Please enjoy these New Year’s traditions with us at Sol, all orders will be accompanied by a complementary side of Stewed Collard Greens and Black-Eyed Peas.(Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.)
The legendary powers begin at 8:00PM with live music from Tim Parent and Ben Butterworth of Grim Bros.
So let your New Year begin with luck and money and celebrate at Sol!
