We’ll gather in the land of gingerbread for our Friday, Dec. 9 Morning Mixer at the Portsmouth Historical Society, which is hosting its fan favorite Gingerbread House Exhibition through Dec. 22 in its Academy Galleries. Portsmouth Historical is also hosting Show and Tell, an exhibition devoted to seacoast children's illustrators.
Founded in 1917, the Portsmouth Historical Society, is a nonprofit devoted to championing the history, arts, and culture of the Portsmouth region through acquisitions, preservation, museum exhibitions, programs, historic walking tours and publications. It operates three spaces: the Discover Portsmouth Welcome Center, the Academy Galleries and the 1758 John Paul Jones Historic House Museum and Gardens, a national historic landmark.
Meet Emma Stratton, who has served as executive director since June. She joins the Historical Society after five years as executive director of the American Independence Museum in Exeter, and has 15 years of historic house and history museum experience.
The Morning Mixer series is sponsored by Service Credit Union.
