PORTSMOUTH – The New Hampshire Art Association will be holding a “Body of Work: Series IV” exhibition during the month of September at the Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery on State Street.
NHAA holds several “Body of Work” shows throughout the year to give its members an opportunity to showcase a grouping of their works. By exhibiting multiple works, the featured artists are able to present their overall artistic vision, sometimes difficult to do with one or two pieces.
This fourth BOW exhibit at the gallery this year features three local photographers – Mark Giuliucci, Jared Plante and Ron St. Jean.
“All Around Us,” is a visually striking exhibit featuring photographic works that have been re-imagined in fractalized form by Giuliucci.
Plante is a self-taught landscape/wildlife fine art photographer. The title of his exhibit is “By the Sea.” Plante said he captures the ever-changing beauty of the places he’s traveled.
St. Jean has been a professional portrait, event, and fine art photographer for more than 30 years. He works in a studio in Dover’s Washington Street Mill.
“I like examining details and compositions that might not be obvious to most people, including me, at first glance,” St. Jean said. “I sometimes combine images when I like the way two or more photographs’ textures and shapes interact with and complement each other.”
