As we enter spring, a time of new beginnings, I thought this would be a good time to give you an update about how things are going now that The Richie McFarland Children’s Center is officially a part of the Waypoint family.
As promised, our merger has grown our programming and expanded our reach to more children and families in our Seacoast communities. Currently, through our home at 11 Sandy Point Road in Stratham, we offer these programs:
- Family-Centered Early Supports and Services—serving families with children who have developmental concerns
- Partners in Health—serving families with children who have chronic health conditions
- Healthy Families America—a home-visiting, family support and empowerment program
You would be proud and inspired to see how our merged staffs are working so well together already to provide comprehensive services and wrap-around support for children and families. (HERE’S A PIC OF OUR HAPPY GROUP!)
Soon, we’ll formalize Waypoint at the Richie McFarland Center as a full-service Family Resource Center that will serve as a hub where families can access a broader spectrum of services and resources, including a multitude of free education and support groups, to suit their needs and goals.
To that end, we are building an advisory committee to help reflect the needs of the community and guide our evolution of services. This committee will play an integral role in our community outreach and in developing services with measurable impact.
Thank you for taking this journey with us into our next era of caring. We are so proud to be Waypoint at the Richie McFarland Center; it is clear that we are better together. We hope you will continue along with us, as a trusted partner and friend, so that together, we can shape the future of family-centered services for the Seacoast community.
Please keep in mind that our past, present and future will forever lay claim to this truth first inspired by a mother’s love: Each and every child has the ability to learn, grow and make their way in a world that was never meant to be uniform but will instead thrive through inclusivity and recognition of every child’s individual strengths. Our commitment to this promise has never been stronger.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Peggy Small-Porter
A proud member of the Waypoint team
P.S. We are planning an open house for some time this summer. Watch for an invitation in your email!
