PORTSMOUTH—Local latin dance company, Salsa Secrets, held a social dance on April 2 and invited community members to attend and donate to Polska Akcja Humanitarna (Polish Humanitarian Action) in Warsaw, Poland to benefit the Ukrainians seeking refuge in Poland.
Polska Akcja Humanitarna is supporting the Ukraine Refugees throughout Poland, providing food, warm clothing, housing, education for children in Polish schools, care for the elderly and trauma support for children.
Salsa Secret’s founder, Piotr Kowalczyk is a Polish native. His entire family still remains in Poland. “This cause is close to my heart. My own country has lived through this kind of devastation. Helping the Ukrainians is our nature. Being here in America, I can’t provide physical assistance, but I wanted to do something.”
The social dance was an amazing display of folks from our local dance community coming together for humanity. “We are absolutely humbled by the support of this community. We are completely filled with gratitude and we know the funds will be used well.”
