Town of Plaistow issued the following announcement on February 9.
The Highway Department has been working to try and clear some of the sidewalks today. However, the ice is still too thick for the sidewalk plow to be effective. They did put down some salt and that combined with some warmer temperatures forecast should help to soften things up to aid in clearing the sidewalks. The Highway Department is continuing to monitor conditions to get the sidewalks clear as soon as possible.
Also, please use caution on the sidewalks around Town Hall. Staff is trying as much as possible to keep the area salted, but with all the melting and re-freezing caution is advised. Please continue to refrain from using Pollard Park (behind Town Hall) or the Gazebo. The area is still flooded.
