Myles Bryant, 23, moves to the New England Patriots active roster to replace one of two injured teammates.
Bryant started his career with the Patriots on May 5, 2020. He played in nine games as a rookie, playing both cornerback and safety. He served as both a standard elevation and a COVID-19 replacement.
After trading Stephon Gilmore to the Carolina Panthers and cornerback Shaun Wade still recovering from a concussion, Bryant's assistance will be need by the Patriots. He is known as a hard-hitting defensive back, according to Fan Nation: Patriot Maven.
"Myles Bryant on getting promoted to the active roster: 'It's a good feeling,'" Alex Barth, a Boston sports journalist, tweeted on Oct. 21.
The Patriots are expected to need multiple defensive backs against some of the NFL's top quarterbacks in the new few weeks, and Bryant should provide some versatility for the team.
On Oct. 19, the Patriots made several roster moves. These moves were made in order to better the Patriots’ chances of progressing toward playoff contention.
Bryant signed with the team initially as an undrafted free agent. He played college football for the Washington Huskies, where he was a three-time All-Pac 12 selection, twice on the second team and once as an honorable mention. He appeared in a total of 39 games, recording 177 tackles, four interceptions, three forced fumbles, and three and a half sacks, according to Wikipedia.
