COUNTY OF NOTTINGHAM: A Message From Your Moderator

Vote6(1000)

County of Nottingham issued the following announcement on Jun. 2.

Nottingham Town and School Elections and Voting on their respective budgets and all other Articles on the Town and School Warrants will be held

TUESDAY, JUNE 8, 2021 FROM 7 AM until 7 PM at the Nottingham School,  245 Stage Road

(for more election details, ballots, candidates, click here)

NH and US Health Agencies still recommend that indoor gatherings of more than a small number of people from diverse households whose vaccination status is unknown wear masks and practice social distancing. We continue to conduct our elections adhering to the guidelines of DHHS/NH and the CDC. Believe me, your election team is hoping that this is the last time we will need to use these extra procedures & we ask you to kindly observe them one more time:

  • Masks must be worn by all persons inside the school building
  • Social Distancing to be practiced
  • Hand sanitation recommended
An Accessible Voting Area <via absentee ballot or other> like in September and November will be set up outside the building to accommodate those who cannot/will not wear a mask.

*All campaigns are welcome to use the electioneering area for visibility and handing out literature. All signs must be manned and must not be affixed to the ground, buildings, tree or pole. Masks must be worn in the electioneering area.  Electioneering is confined to the roped off area outside. No electioneering in the parking lot, on the pathway, or inside the building.

*If you are a WRITE-IN candidate, you may pass out literature with your name on it but from the electioneering area only. You may not give out stickers with your name on them for use on a ballot; this would invalidate the vote for that office and could jam the vote count machine. Write Ins must be hand written on the ballot.

Some changes:

  • Community Groups who wish to share information or hold a non-food raffle may set up tables outside with Moderator permission; you must ask before Election Day and bring your own table/tent/booth. Persons manning these tables must be masked.
  • Small children may accompany their parent to the voting booth.
  • Voters will be handed THREE ballots upon check-in.
  • Voter registration by the Supervisors of the checklist will be available for new voters at the polls all day on Election Day.  (This is a change from the deliberative session).
The Town Clerk’s Office will be closed on Election Day.  She will be working at the polls.
