Joe Sweeney, a public figure active in New Hampshire, has recently posted on social media about developments in local energy rates and community initiatives. His tweets highlight changes to default electricity service rates and the impact of a new aggregation program for Salem residents.

On August 23, 2025, Sweeney posted: New Hampshire ftw https://t.co/T2kM8iqApC.

Two days later, on August 25, 2025, he shared information about local electricity rates: “Liberty has announced that its new default service rate for the winter will be $0.124 per kWh, effective in August. With a rate of $0.11138 per kWh, the Salem Community Choice Aggregation program will provide an initial savings of $0.011 per kWh, resulting in an estimated.

In another post made minutes after the previous one on August 25, Sweeney wrote: The Salem Community Choice Aggregation program spun up by Freedom Energy Logistics and the Town of Salem is going to deliver real relief to Salem ratepayers! Very proud to see this program launch as a success.

Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) programs like the one referenced by Sweeney are designed to allow municipalities or groups of municipalities to procure electricity on behalf of their residents and businesses, often aiming for lower rates or more sustainable sources than standard utility offerings. In this case, the Town of Salem partnered with Freedom Energy Logistics to initiate such a program, reflecting broader efforts across New Hampshire and other states to give communities more control over energy costs and sourcing.
