Joe Sweeney, a political commentator and activist, posted a series of tweets on September 12, 2025, expressing strong opinions about Antifa and law enforcement in the United States.

In his first tweet at 14:53 UTC, Sweeney wrote: “Antifa is a cancerous, Marxist terror organization that has been coddled, emboldened, and supported by a wide range of Democrat politicians and influencers over the years. They are a national security threat and they must be treated like the terrorists they are.”

Later that day at 16:36 UTC, Sweeney shared two links without additional commentary: “https://t.co/etfFAfOQiv https://t.co/XFllGS2MgU”.

In another post at 21:38 UTC, Sweeney expressed support for law enforcement officers and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. He stated: “Fully support this. We have seen so much hate thrown towards our officers who are enforcing our laws and defending our nation from these foreign invaders, and ICE Officers have a massive target on their backs from Antifa terrorists and the like. Illegals can avoid interactions https://t.co/gYLbAPVt7E”.

Antifa refers to loosely organized groups in the United States known for opposing far-right ideologies; its members often engage in direct action tactics during protests. The group does not have a centralized structure or leadership. Law enforcement agencies such as ICE have faced criticism as well as support regarding their role in immigration enforcement across the country.
