PORTSMOUTH—Avery Insurance Agency, a fourth-generation, a family-owned, independent insurance agency located in New Hampshire, recently accepted Vanessa Leavitt as a marketing intern. In her role, Leavitt will be working closely with agency leadership to develop applied experience in communications, writing, and marketing. Leavitt will assist the team by conducting market research, writing industry-specific blog posts, completing assorted marketing assignments, and collecting news scans.

Leavitt is Avery’s first intern. Internship programs are a popular tool to bring in fresh perspectives, create a pipeline for new hires, and provide mentorship opportunities to existing employees. “We love Vanessa’s energy, dedication, and intuitive nature,” said Vicki O’Dowd, Vice President, Avery Insurance. “We are confident the team and our clients will enjoy working with her.”

Prior to joining Avery, Leavitt spent the last four years studying at Roger Williams University. She is expected to graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and a minor in Communications. Originally from Haverhill, Massachusetts, after graduation, Leavitt plans to seek a position in social media analysis.
